Revenue paused Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme (EWSS) payments for employers with outstanding June and/or July Eligibility Review Forms (ERFs) on 1 September. EWSS payments will be resumed when any outstanding EWSS ERFs are filed, and suspended claims will also be processed for payment.
Over 12,300 individual businesses, as well as 1,300 agents representing 14,350 employers were contacted by Revenue for having not submitted their EWSS ERF for June and/or July by 15 August. By close of business on Monday, 30 August almost 70 percent of business currently claiming the EWSS for almost 350,000 employees completed the ERF for both June and July. Almost 85 percent of businesses currently claiming EWSS completed their ERF for June.
Revenue confirmed in a press release that where a business subsequently completes and submits outstanding EWSS ERF(s), it will resume the payment of the EWSS support. Any subsidies claimed but not paid while EWSS ERFs were outstanding will then also be processed for payment.
Further information on the operation of EWSS from 1 July 2021 can be found in the guidelines.
